How did you come across this pairing?

Who introduced you to them or what got interested in their perfect pairing?

In this thread mention what fanfiction or whoever really got you hooked on Albel and Nel.

I'll go first!

Well, to be honest, I didn't think much of Albel and Nel at first. I thought Albel was a cutie, that's for sure, but Nel was certainly not a favorite at the time.

One day, out of random curiousity, I decided to try my hand at Fayt/Sophia fanfics, and in the process, ran across "My Big, Fat, Aquios Wedding" (I'm sure many have here have heard of it. One of the best ever!). When I first started reading it, I didn't know what to expect, especially with Nel getting paired up with Albel!

As the story progressed and I read some of the scenes unfurl inbetween them, while also getting visual from playing the game (and seeing the scenes there as well), the picture really started coming together into a solid OTP.

After the completion of MBFAW, I became obsessed with them. I started looking up fanfics all over the place, looking up fanart...adding more and more fuel to the increasing fire of love for this crazy pairing! It just oddly worked out!

But it's defintely all because of MBFAW. If not for that fanfiction, I probably wouldn't be here today, and be a shipper for...erm, about 2 years? now.

Back when I was playing about 3 months ago, my shipper-seeking eyes kind of caught onto Albel and Nel. I didn't blatantly know it though..

And then I typed some Star Ocean stuff into the google search box and saw snippets of Albel/Fayt shippers complaining about all the Albel/Nel. And I saw the pairing and thought it fit.

How did I first come across the couple? Well, when I first started the game, I saw Albel in the chamber, seemly bored as the king talked. Soon later, I noticed the red head, Nel. To me, it just fit. He seemed like a complete jerk, and she seemed like a 'Can't touch this' type of gal, put them together, and you get some kick-arse action as well as a complex relationship, one that would take a long time to actually develop. I hate couplings that could easily 'fall in love' quite early in the relationship. Where is the fun in that?

Other then my own personal likeness, however, I came across a few harmless (or so it seemed) fan fictions that added to my addiction:

One being "In the dragon den", or something across those lines, another I can not even hope to give a name, but it held content about Albel drawing a very graphic crayon drawing of both him and Nel, before he stopped her and her office work and started doing some very naughty things . . .

Ahem, yeah, moving on, lastly, a quite recent fanfic that reinvigorated me :

The Adventures of Albel the babysitter! (I highly recommend)

Oh yeah, if you think Myst-sama is crazy about Alnel, we HIGHLY revere LADY NOX! My gosh...SHE'S OUR HERO! Biggest Alnel junkie out there! She's written fanfictions and doujinshi up the wazoo!

Unfortunately, we've yet to find ANY of her works, and just when we were about to get a taste, her website shut down...we were sooo disheartened. But we still try to find her stuff.

That title sounds VERY familiar, it's probably written by her....mou! I want to READ IT!

At first, I was a huge AlbelxFayt person, AF. The end.
Then I started looking up Albel on DA, and good/popular pictures were of him and Nel...
So I fluttered around one day to fiction centered around Nel and Albel,
The result...
Fayt's good, but Nel's better. XD

Hmm...the fiction, I'm not quite sure but my earliest favourite was; Say My Name.

No, that's not the one. She's a slippery one to catch, but she's the best Alnel author out there, and none of us have been able to read her stuff...

For me, I'd take Fayt being with Albel more than Sophia. Fayt's kind of a default sort of guy. Can't pair up someone, pair em with Fayt. It's cause he's nice to everyone that he seems perfect for anyone.

Only people he wouldn't fit with would be Peppita, Roger, and Adray...eww.

I actually heard about the game from a couple of friends who were arguing over forums with "He loves Fayt!!!onetotheone111!" and "NO! Albel loves Nel you idiot!" and so on, so I kinda wanted to see what the fuss was about and decided to get the game, and I very much agree, Albel Lurves Nel :3 'nuff said. Now I'm a crazed fangirl over the pairing, I've even had a go at drawing fanart, though I'm not too good in that area >.o Still yet i can't get enough, I just LOVE the Albel + Nelness and i want more! >_<
